Celebrating 60 years of homebuilding excellence, Northern Virginia homebuilder Miller & Smith Homes has achieved a significant win at the 2024 Great American Living Awards (GALA). The awards event, organized by The Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), took place at the McLean Hilton Tysons Corner, honoring industry leaders. Miller & Smith earned Gold for Best Interior Merchandising in a Multi-Family Model/Unit for their Aurora model at Birchwood at Brambleton and received a Merit Award for the Verona model in the same 55+ community.
The GALA Awards are the most prestigious recognition in the region for exceptional achievements in architecture, construction, marketing, and design. These new awards underscore Miller & Smith’s long-standing commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality homes.
“It is truly an honor for our team to be recognized at GALA,” said Erica Bell, Sr. Marketing Manager at Miller & Smith. “The acknowledgment of the Aurora and Verona models is a reflection of our dedication to design excellence. Birchwood at Brambleton holds a special place in our portfolio, and these awards celebrate the creativity and expertise that make this community a standout choice for 55+ homebuyers.”
The Gold-winning Aurora model is part of the Courtyard Home collection, a design that previously gained recognition and has seen a strong return at Birchwood at Brambleton. With just two Courtyard Homes left available for purchase, these represent the final offerings of this model type in the community. The Merit Award-winning Verona model has set a benchmark in multi-family living, offering sophisticated design elements that prioritize comfort and elegance.
In addition to Courtyard Homes, Birchwood at Brambleton features elevator brownstones and elevator single-family homes, providing a range of housing options to meet the preferences of the 55+ demographic.
Winning at the GALA Awards coincides with Miller & Smith’s 60th anniversary—a landmark moment that reflects on decades of award-winning craftsmanship and community building. From the 1960s to notable national achievements, such as the Best in American Living Award in 2019, the builder has maintained its position as an industry innovator.
“This milestone year is one of both celebration and gratitude,” Bell noted. “These awards validate the work we’re doing today while honoring the legacy we have built over the past 60 years. We are thankful for the recognition and look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence.” See ever growing Awards of Excellence in Home Building Here.
