There are so many perks of being a resident of the greater Washington D.C. Metro area, probably heading up that list is the proximity to the Capitol Fourth Celebration hosted on the National Mall. Picture this. Fourth of July viewed live from the country’s most spectacular stage. The brilliant colors, the patriotic sounds of the National Symphony Orchestra all set against the most Patriotic background our country has to offer. However, if you don’t feel like battling the masses on the holiday known for just kicking back, here are some alternative ideas and local to some of our very own Miller & Smith communities.

The celebration starts early at Brambleton’s pre-4th of July celebration. Our Ashburn, VA residents at Brambleton and One Loudoun can come out to enjoy live music, family friendly games, contests and tournaments and other fun-filled activities. Food, vendors and, of course, a fireworks show also will be on-site.
Frederick’s 4th of July

If you live in The Orchard at New Market, Gallery Park or Grapevine Ridge at Clarksburg Town Center, you’re not going to want to miss Frederick’s 4th of July celebration. This all-day event features regional and national entertainment beginning at noon on two stages. Families from the surrounding region can enjoy a day packed with rides, activities and live entertainment. Dunk a Frederick celebrity or race a bathtub down Culler Lake. There is a little something for everyone. Fireworks will be shot at dusk from Parkway Elementary. Grab your seat early because the park fills up quickly!
