A great kitchen is more than the sum of its parts. Sure, the finishes, appliances and materials are critical. After all, nothing creates that instant WOW like a huge slab of granite on a center island, gleaming stainless steel appliances, or dramatic 42 cabinets accented with brushed nickel or oiled bronze hardware.
What makes a kitchen truly great, however, is how all that granite, stainless and cabinetry functions, flows and works with the surrounding rooms to create the heart of your home. At Miller & Smith, we pride ourselves on creating kitchens that are not only high-style focal points, but that serve our homeowners well in every capacity, from places to prepare family meals and entertain, to impromptu study areas and gathering spaces.

Anyone who has ever worked with Tracy Lamb, Miller & Smith Sales Manager at Brambleton, knows that she has a genuine passion for her job and a special place in her heart for Miller & Smith. Tracy isn’t just a Miller & Smith Sales Manager; she’s a Miller & Smith homeowner. So she knows first hand what makes a Miller & Smith home special. We recently asked Tracy to share her thoughts on Brambleton, her award-winning Rosemoor model, and why she thinks this Ashburn, Virginia community is such a desirable place to live. What is your favorite feature about your model home?
My favorite feature of the Rosemoor has to be the patio off of the morning room/great roomthat features our double-sided fireplace. It makes an awesome entertaining space and adding that outdoor fireplace is the icing on the cake! It connects the different areas and your guests can flow so easily from inside to outside.
What is your best memory of the home you grew up in?
The best memory for me would have to be my high school graduation party. Our house had a huge deck and I got have a DJ on the deck while people danced below on our patio. My Mom had strung white lights all through our fence and on the trees in our yard. The party went well into the evening and it looked totally cool! We all danced, ate tons of good food and celebrated a milestone. All of my friends said it was the best graduation party they had been to and everyone talked about it all summer.
If you were given an extra $10,000 for a home improvement, how would you spend it?
I recently purchased aMiller & Smith home (whichI absolutely love!) so I would use that money to build a deck on the back of my new home. My husband and I love to grill out and relax outdoors in the warm weather.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Brambleton and why?
My favorite restaurant would have to be Nick’s Mediterranean Grill. I love Greek food! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service is top notch. Their food is authentically Mediterranean and everything on the menu is delicious. They have a dish called Shrimp Ala Nick’s with shrimp, feta cheese, and spinach over pasta. I could literally eat it every day.
Why do you think The Rosemoor model won a GALA award for best architecture and design?
Because the Rosemoor combines old English charm on the outside with a contemporary modern floor plan inside. The Rosemoor is open and inviting. The kitchen, morning room and great room all connect, so you won’t miss a minute with the family. Upstairs offers the choice of a loft or additional bedroom, which can suit many different lifestyles and uses. Our distinctive exteriors with arched entryways, front porches, and cedar shake siding all prove that the devil really is in the details.
Explain your most memorable connection or moment with a homebuyer?
A few years ago a young couple purchased one of the townhomes I was selling. The man came into the model by himself one day and said he had to ask me a really big favor. He wanted to ask his girlfriend to marry him and he wanted to do it in their soon to be new home. His plan was to bring her to take a look at the progress and then get down on one knee and pop the question. He and his friend made a huge banner that said Will you marry me? and we hung it on the inside of the garage. He asked if I would help him and record the moment on his phone. On the big day I took them into the house to take a peek. He opened the garage door and dropped to one knee. She started crying when she saw the banner and knew what was happening. She said YES ! A fewneighbors were outside and when they realized what had just happened they all started clapping. What a great way to begin a new life together!
Why do you think Brambleton is the 6th top selling community in the entire nation?
Brambleton is a community like no other you’ve seen before. There is truly something for everyone here. It is set on 2,300 acres but still has that small town feel. There is a town center with a large movie theater, restaurants, and shops. There are pools, parks, a dog park, tot lots, amazing paved walking/biking trails and now community garden plots to rent during the growing season. Brambleton has the most up to date technology services available. It’s also unique in the fact that mostly all of the amenities are within walking distance. Anything and everything you need is right inside your own community! The community social calendar is second to none and is loaded with great ways for residents to get involved.
If Brambleton sounds like the kind of place you’d like to call home, stop by and say hi to Tracy today. For more photos and directions to Miller & Smith’s Rosemoor model, click here.
